One man's trash is another man's treasure
Redic, an interdisciplinary artist, poet and singer from the US, takes an innovative approach to discarded furniture and other daily-life articles.
The Chicago-born artist, who has lived in Shanghai for 12 years, prowls the city streets, looking for what others might consider trash to use in his artworks. Redic's works are now on display at an exhibition in Shanghai Cultural Square.
The exhibition, which runs through mid-March, is called "PRELUDE Rubies in the Rubble: The Humanity Chapters of Redic."
He calls it a "prelude" because he said this will be the first in a series of solo exhibitions in Europe this year.
"Uncertainty" is the core of a dual exhibition by Ding She and Celyn Bricker. "RONG: Rays of Light" features 36 artworks, varying from video, digital painting to installation created by the two artists. According to Huang Yi, curator of the exhibition, the two artists, one from the East and the other from the West, interpret their own values about man and nature.
